Royal Caribbean Cruise Destination Wedding Photography | Cyn + Monk

Dear friends of mine Cynthia and Stephen (aka Monkey) got married on Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas Cruise ship and invited me along for this week long trip to the Grand Caymen Island and Cozumel. I’ve only been on a cruise one other time and I had a miserable experience because the ship was only half the size of this one and I get really seasick. This trip was completely different. It was an amazing week with old friends and new ones, bingo, gambling and feasting. As a result, I got a renewed vigor for cruise ship vacations. I loved it! Thanks Cyn and Monk for an awesome week away! Enjoy some of the samples from the wedding on the boat. I’d love to hear your comments.

Mary & Nick are two really special people to us. We shot their beautiful wedding in Sycamore, IL about 3 months ago. They moved back into the Oakland area for Nick’s job. They showed us where they lived and we got a chance to hang out in Oakland. We ended off with an awesome meal at Triple Rock on the Berkeley Campus. Check out their samples!

I’m so excited to share our 2nd photoshoot here in San Francisco. The fog rolled in and got us really worried that we wouldn’t be able to get the shots but I think it actually inspired me even more to use the light/surroundings to our advantage. What an honor to be here in San Francisco to shoot a wedding for my new friends Candice and Michael. We went all around the Bay area and shot some beautiful pics for them. Mike and I are completely amazed at how well the sun shines here. The elevation and beauty of the landscapes make this city my second favorite city in the world.

Johanna & Andy | Seattle, WA

So I’m currently here in Seattle on assignment to shoot a wedding for my friends Johanna and Andy. I met the both of them when they were attending the University of Chicago back home. So here I am sitting in my hotel room editing some of their photos after a long morning of siteseeing and shooting. I LOVE this city. It reminds me so much of San Fransisco and both Becky and I fell in love with that city. Check out a couple of images from our morning:

Amanda & Brent | Destination Wedding!!!

Wow, what a wonderful weekend. It’s the week after a shortened week from Memorial Day and Amanda & Brent got married in Okoboji, IA. Yes folks! It’s a real place! Sounds African or even Japanese. In fact, as I was twittering from Iowa, folks were asking me who I was shooting in Japan!!!! Anyways.. It was Western Iowa, a small, quaint, resort town filled with lakes, and lakefront property. Resort hotels, bed and breakfasts, and a ton of fantastic restaurants. Amanda’s family owns and operates a farm/farmland in Okoboji and decided to get married there. They’re both dear friends to Becky and I because we all attend the same church. So I decided to make the 8-hour trek with Beck and Jasmine in our family CRV. Driving there wasn’t so bad. We had the DVD player, thanks to Eddy, which kept her busy most of the trip. The rest was just listening to her CD’s until she fell asleep. Overall, it was an awesome time spending a few days early to R&R with the Kuhr’s and hang with other Near West Vineyard folks that also made the trip out to Okoboji.

So I just got back from a fun trip down south. I primarily went down to that area to shoot a friend’s wedding. I had an amazing time with some good folks and wonderful food. Here are a couple of pics from my trip:
