Becky and I had our 2nd child yesterday. Jordyn Alisha was born at 12:28am (or 00:28 in doctor language) @ 7lbs 15.5oz 18.5″ long. It’s been an amazing journey to finally welcome Jordyn into the world. Becky was placed on bedrest for the past 4 months after discovering that she was going to need a cerclage to prevent a pre-term baby. After a successful procedure, she was ordered to stop teaching at her school and lie in bed @home for the remainder of the pregnancy. For those of you who don’t know what it’s like or maybe you do.. bedrest just flat out sucks. It changes the way you live. It changes the way you interact with each other. At times, it drove us to tears. We learned new things about each other that really tested our patience. In the end, we got through it coming out stronger as a family than ever before. With God as the guide of our household, we were “carried” through it and we’ll never forget the lessons we learned. I love my wife. I love my new daughter. I love that my 4 year old daughter thinks the world of her new baby sister. This has been an incredible journey.
Most of you have already seen the pictures I’ve posted on facebook. In the short time that we’ve already spent with Jordyn, she’s brought us sooo much joy already. Both Becky and I owe a debt of gratitude to all of you who prayed for us, fed us, and took care of us during those tense moments these past few months. There were times when I had to leave the family for all-day and all-weekend wedding assignments and people stepped in to help out. To our wonderful church family, thank you for all the prayers, support, and weekly deliveries of fabulous home-cooked FOOD! THANKS! To my close friends and immediate families that made it a point to be a part of this baby’s journey.. THANK you. Jordyn is a testimony of all of your love and hard work.
